The project for the construction of a wind farm in the Municipality of Villacidro, Sardinia, represents an important initiative for the promotion of renewable energy in the region. The civil works planned for this project include a series of fundamental activities, each essential to ensure the proper functioning and efficiency of the wind farm.

  1. Excavation and Material Handling: The initial phase of the project involves excavation and material handling to prepare the site for the installation of the wind turbines. This operation requires the use of specialized equipment to ensure that the ground is adequately leveled and ready for the subsequent construction phases. Excavation will be carried out with care to minimize environmental impact and preserve the natural characteristics of the area.

  2. Reinforced Concrete Foundations: Reinforced concrete foundations will be constructed to support the wind turbines. These foundations are designed to withstand the forces generated by the wind and ensure the stability of the blades. The use of high-quality materials and advanced construction techniques will ensure that the foundations are durable and safe over time.

  3. Temporary and Permanent Internal Roadways: During construction, the creation of temporary roadways will be necessary to allow access for construction vehicles and the transport of materials. Once the project is completed, permanent roadways will be constructed to ensure safe and functional access within the wind farm, also facilitating future maintenance operations.

  4. Medium and High Voltage Electrical Lines: Medium voltage (MV) and high voltage (HV) electrical lines will be installed to connect the wind turbines to the electrical grid. These lines are essential to ensure the transport of the energy produced by the wind farm to the national electrical system, thus contributing to the energy sustainability of the region.

  5. Electrical Substation: Finally, an electrical substation will be constructed, which will play a crucial role in managing and distributing the generated energy. This infrastructure will allow for the transformation and regulation of the voltage of the produced energy, ensuring that it can be safely and efficiently fed into the electrical grid.

The Villacidro wind farm represents a significant step towards energy transition and the reduction of carbon emissions, contributing to a more sustainable future for Sardinia. Thanks to the collaboration between Semat, SIMIC SpA, and DAS VILLACIDRO SpA, the project benefits from advanced technical expertise and an innovative approach aimed at maximizing the efficiency and sustainability of operations. Throughout all phases of the project, particular attention will be paid to worker safety and the protection of the surrounding environment.
