The project promoted by DUFERCO for the construction of the new rolling mill is one of the most important in Europe, not only for the size and value of the investment but especially for the adoption of new technologies that enable the digitalization of the production process and the implementation of processes for green production. The works began with the construction of the foundations for the new warehouses, followed by the installation of the new heating furnace, the structures to support the new rolling and product cooling machines, and finally the systems for the recovery and treatment of process water.
The works carried out by SEMAT, in addition to being characterized by large dimensions, required highly qualified skills capable of managing special sub-foundation works, excavation containment, prefabrication, and innovative systems for the rapid execution of the works, while ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to timelines.
